Rabbi Mendy and Leah Levertov would love to welcome you to Chabad of North Phoenix — a place where every Jew is seen, valued, and welcomed like family.

Welcome From Rabbi Mendy & Leah
When we opened Chabad of North Phoenix, our dream was to create more than a synagogue or a place for programs. We wanted to build a warm Jewish home — a place where every person who walks through the door feels that they belong.
Whether you come for Shabbat, a holiday celebration, a Torah class, Hebrew School, a women’s event, or just to have a conversation, we hope you will feel the warmth, sincerity, and joy that make Chabad special.
You do not need to have a certain background, level of knowledge, or style of observance to feel at home here. Chabad is a place for every Jew — and that means you.
Rabbi Mendy Levertov
Rabbi Mendy is the Rabbi and director of Chabad of North Phoenix. He is passionate about making Judaism meaningful, approachable, and relevant for every person.
Whether he is teaching a class, leading services, visiting someone in the hospital, helping with a mezuzah, guiding a family through a lifecycle event, or just sitting down for a conversation, Rabbi Mendy’s goal is always the same: to help another Jew feel connected, uplifted, and supported.
If you have a question about Judaism, need guidance, are saying Kaddish, want to learn, or simply want to connect, Rabbi Mendy would be happy to hear from you.
Leah Levertov
Leah is the creative engine behind so much of Chabad of North Phoenix. Her warmth, vision, and attention to detail can be felt throughout the community — from Shabbat and holiday programs to classes, events, hospitality, family programs, women’s gatherings, and the everyday care that makes Chabad feel like home.
Leah has a special gift for making people feel comfortable, understood, and included. She is a thoughtful listener, a source of practical wisdom, and someone many in the community turn to for guidance, encouragement, and honest advice.
Whether she is planning a program, welcoming a guest, supporting a family, sharing an idea, or simply sitting down for a conversation, Leah brings heart, creativity, and genuine care to everything she does.
A Place to Belong
Chabad is here for the big moments and the small moments — for the holidays and the ordinary weekdays, for celebrations and challenges, for questions, learning, support, and friendship.
If you are new to the area, visiting from out of town, looking for a Shabbat table, searching for a Jewish class, enrolling your child in Hebrew School, or just wondering where to begin, please know that you are welcome here.
We look forward to meeting you personally and welcoming you to the Chabad family.
