Lag BaOmer at Chabad

Lag BaOmer is a joyful day on the Jewish calendar, celebrated on the 33rd day of the Omer. It is a day of Jewish unity, pride, and celebration, traditionally marked with outdoor gatherings, music, bonfires, barbecues, and community festivities.

Lag BaOmer is also connected with Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, the great sage and mystic, and with the end of a difficult period during the days of Rabbi Akiva. It reminds us of the power of Jewish joy, togetherness, and light.

Whether you celebrate every year or are just beginning to explore the holiday, you are warmly invited to join us for a fun and meaningful community celebration.

About Lag BaOmer

Lag BaOmer is celebrated between Pesach and Shavuot, during the period known as Sefirat HaOmer, the Counting of the Omer. While much of the Omer is observed as a more serious time, Lag BaOmer is a day of celebration, music, and Jewish pride.

Many communities celebrate with outdoor gatherings, parades, bonfires, barbecues, and programs for children and families. It is a special opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate Jewish life with joy.
